Timo Tiihonen, Chairman of the Board 

Timo Tiihonen is the chairman of the board at Propentus and he has extensive boardroom experience as board chairman and board member. With over 30 years of experience in the field of IT he adds deep knowledge of the IT business to Propentus’ top management. Timo has held various positions in management and sales with international companies such as Rank Xerox Ltd., Apple Computer Ltd., where he served as managing director, and Hewlett Packard Ltd., where he worked as sales director. Timo Tiihonen currently serves as senior advisor at CapMan and is a partner in the Boardman network. He is a board member of several companies. He holds an M.Sc. (Eng.), and M.Sc. (Econ.).

Tomi Merenheimo, Board Member

Tomi Merenheimo is a member of the board at Propentus and is a great addition to the company’s current IT industry expertise. In addition, Tomi brings an external view to Propentus’ business activities. Tomi has wide experience in legal matters and the communications management of a listed company. As a fast growing and internationalizing company, Propentus needs the expertise and insight offered through Merenheimo’s deep knowledge of the information technology industry. Tomi Merenheimo has been as managing director of a top 10 Finnish law firm, Digia Plc’s vice president responsible for legal matters and investor relations, and a member of the group management team of Digia Plc, a NASDAQ OMX listed company. Before working for Digia, Merenheimo worked for Konecranes Plc as legal counsel responsible for international IT contracts, project-, agency-, license- and distributorship agreements, and before working for Konecranes, Merenheimo worked for the Financial Supervision Authority as legal advisor responsible for outsourcing, corporate governance, mergers, and licenses.

At the moment, Merenheimo is a managing partner at Magnusson Helsinki. Magnusson Helsinki is headed by Merenheimo and he focuses on mergers and acquisitions, as well as technology agreements and projects. He holds an LL.M., Master of Laws.

Tomi Hautala, Managing Director

Tomi Hautala is one of the founders of Propentus and he works as the company’s managing director. He has over fifteen years of experience in the software business and he has led large and demanding projects for UPM-Kymmene, Metso Paper, Rautaruukki, Lahti Science and Business Park, and Nokia. His competence combined with his vision of how the technological environment will develop in the future has guided our company to be a pioneer in the field of access rights management as well as eServices for the public sector. His previous work experience includes such companies as Nokia, ICL Edacom, and Sanetsoft. Tomi Hautala’s educational background is as an engineer in the field of software engineering and he has completed several certificates related to software engineering.

Sami Laaksonen, Marketing and Sales Director

Sami Laaksonen is Propentus’ marketing and sales director and he is responsible for our sales and marketing functions. He helps our customers to specify their company and business requirements for access rights management and the efficiency of business processes. He has several years of experience in the field of high-tech and he has worked as product development manager, marketing manager, and project manager. He has been responsible for numerous demanding customerships and projects: for example, Andritz, Metso Paper, Rautaruukki, City of Lappeenranta, and Blancco. Prior to Propentus, he worked at Blancco. He holds a Master of Science in the field of software engineering.
