Propentus and Affecto in co-operation
Propentus and Affecto - the largest Business Intelligence solution provider in the Nordic countries - made a long-term co-operation agreement which will broaden and strengthen Affecto’s portfolio with Propentus’ identity management solution. Furthermore co-operation will accomplish Affecto’s business information management, operative solutions as well as branch specific solutions by providing cost effective and centralized permission management.
Identity management (IdM) is required if employees cannot have similar access rights and access passes within an organization’s systems, information or assets. With identity management it is possible to ensure that the organization’s identity and employment information is authentic and up-to-date.
The fulfillment of legal obligations and regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requires access rights management and setting a limit to access. According to law, all information related to identity and access rights has to be capable of being reported and even combined with Business Intelligence (BI) information. Every step of the access rights process—such as when the access rights were requested, who made the request, who approved the request, and who provisioned the access rights into to target system—should be subject to the audit trail and reporting. For example, employee cannot have right to accept one’s own invoices.
It is possible for organizations to decrease information security risks and achieve significant cost savings with well-functioning identity management.
For example, when employee is leaving, organization can ensure that all the physical assets such as mobile phones and laptops will be returned back to the organization. Furthermore, software licenses can be effectively transferred from one user for another.
Cost reduction can be achieved by centralizing access rights management and there is no need to overlapping information systems between the business units. All the activities can be centralized for a few information systems. Systems updates will be more efficient as well as integration for other systems will be easier.
”We provide for our customer ready-to-use and integrated identity management solution with a comprehensive reporting capacity. Executive management can take advantage of the reports directly for business development and improve daily operations”, describes Propentus’ Marketing and Sales Director Sami Laaksonen.
